What makes The Green Dolphin unique?

Completed in the summer of 2000, the Green Dolphin is the culmination of our long-held dream for a house by the ocean. We enjoy sharing our beach vacations with our extended family, so we built the Green Dolphin to accommodate 18 guests (plus two more on the sleeper sofa in the rec room, if needed!). Our family includes both teenagers and younger children, so we designed two bedrooms for the younger relatives. All of the seven bedrooms are bright, spacious, and cheerfully decorated. Most of them are master suites and feature ceiling fans and TVs. We also included two separate common areas in addition to the top level great room for mingling and entertaining. Here, you can sit back and relax while watching your favorite movie on a large-screen TV, or enjoy listening to the stereo while participating in a board game or working on a jigsaw puzzle. You can even stay connected while on vacation, using our free Wi-Fi Internet Access!

We knew that most people hate to spend their vacation waiting for a bathroom, so we provided eight full baths plus a powder room, as well as an outside shower by the pool area. Most bathrooms feature two sinks and separate toilet rooms for additional convenience.

For our family, dinner has always been a major event. We hope you will enjoy preparing meals in the Green Dolphin's pretty and practical Tuscan-inspired kitchen. Once dinner is ready, you will find more than adequate seating between the dining room, breakfast area, and kitchen bar. Additional seating can be found on the spacious screened porch.

Decks! Decks! Decks!

While family vacations are all about coming together for a while to enjoy each other's company, they are also about finding time to enjoy one's own space. At the Green Dolphin, you will find lots of spaces for comfortable gathering, as well as many nooks and crannies for peace and quiet. Snuggle into a cozy chair in the reading loft. Venture outside and nestle into an Adirondack chair to enjoy the sunrise from one of the east-facing decks or porches. Admire the sunset from the privacy of the mid-level hot tub. Relax while dangling your feet from the porch swing. Catch a glimpse of Currituck Lighthouse from the screened porch. Enjoy a cool drink at the pool either in the sun or the shade! As beautiful as the Green Dolphin is on the inside, we encourage you to enjoy it on the outside as well!

In 2006, the Green Dolphin's pool area was expanded! We added 10 feet of deck to the back of the pool area for more room to relax in the sun! The new pool area is surrounded by the same 4-foot wall, but now it has 18" of lattice on top for more privacy. This addition brings the Green Dolphin's total decking to over 3000 square feet!!!
